It was a wonderful anniversary!!

I had so much fun tonight with Anthony.
We went to Red Lobster and a delicious meal.
Then we exchanged presents. I gave Anthony
Sim City 4 [for PC] and he gave me a sterling
silver locket. Now I just need to find a picture
to put in it. :) [I will also post a picture of the
locket another time]

Then we came back to my house, and wrestled,
and had a tickle war [which I lost unfortunately...
why do guys always have be stronger than us girls]

Happy Anniversary!!!

Today Anthony and I are celebrating 2 years together. I can't believe that we've been together as long as we have.

Yes we've had our ups and downs, but in the end we love each other.

I was at work on Saturday and I was sitting an enjoying my 3:30 to 4:00pm break. I was sitting with a couple other co-workers, and we started talking about kids, because one of my co-workers is due in April and the other girls had kids and they were talking about their pregnancies and such. This little girl and her dad walked past our table, and co-worker wanted to take the little girl home and adopt her.

One of my other co-workers said, "I ain't never gonna adopt kids, because they won't like like me." I was thrown off by that comment... I wanted to put her in her place and say, "Well my parents adopted me, and I don't look like them at all, but they love me to pieces. I'm their child, have been their child for 22 years now, and I don't care that I don't look like them. They're the only parents I've ever known, and they're the best." But I bit my tongue and didn't say anything because I didn't want her to get upset with me...

I want to adopt kids when I get married someday. Of course, I want to try and have kids on my own, but if I can't then adoption is my next option.

Every child deserves to have a home!!! I learned that especially after I got home from my Korea trip. There were many times when I would be sitting on the floors holding the infants and thinking to myself, "Gee this could've been me." But it wasn't. My birth mother made the ultimate sacrifice by giving me up for adoption. Sure she could've placed me in an orphanage and let the Korean government spend their money on me, but she choose to give me a life, a better life. She did give me a better life, and for that I am so grateful.

2 more days of work and then a break!

I've almost worked a week straight. Tonight will be 1 week.
Tomorrow I have to work. Wednesday I have off [it's Anthony
and my anniversary on Wednesday :)]... I work on Thursday
and then I have the weekend off. Yay!!

This weekend went by way too fast. I guess that's because I worked
all weekend long, but it's already Monday, and that's craziness!!

Anyway I hope that you have a terrific week whatever you may be
doing.

It breaks my heart...

I was watching the 6 o'clock news today at work while passing by patient rooms delivering trays. Ken De Kleine had been plotting to kill Lori for a year. He wanted to kill her on January 31st 2007 after she obtained a PPO against him. It breaks my heart that this family had to be torn apart like this. I'm saddened and kinda upset at him right now.

I know that he was a family friend, but it just frustrates me.

Heath Ledger... it's a sad day.

He was a really talented actor. I
loved the movie, A Knight's Tale.
*sigh* So much sad stuff lately...

Brr... it's cold outside!!

Winter can officially go away now.
It's so cold outside, and it's cold in
my bedroom. I'm sitting writing
this entry with a flannel blanket
around my legs and it's not helping!!

It said on the news on WZZM 13 that
there is a 100% chance of snow today...
that's insane!!! I don't like snow anymore.
It's cold and it's wet, and it makes me shiver.

Anyway have a good day and I will try and stop
complaining about the snow for now... Be safe
driving out there too, it looks nasty!!

Crazy week ahead...

This is going to be a crazy next 9 days.
I work Monday thru next week Tuesday
straight. It's all right though because I'm
getting paid, and I love working at Metro;
even though there are times when I wonder
if I should've just stayed at Hackley.

Next week Wednesday is my 2-year
anniversary with Anthony. I can't believe I've
been dating that boy for that long!!! :-O


This weekend I got to spend time in Holland and in
Muskegon with Natalie, Joe, and Anthony.
It was fun seeing Elora again. She's gotten
so big!! I can't believe that she's almost a year
and a half. When she doesn't get her way, she says,
momma, momma, momma. It's too precious...

Anyway have a good week and I will write again soon!

I still can't believe it.

Ken De Kleine was arraigned today. He admitted to killing Lori by strangling her to death. It's so sad to hear. I can't believe she's gone, and it's because of him.

He was always so nice too. I remember one time I was walking my dog and he was on duty, and he drove past me in the police cruiser and said hi. I didn't realize it was him till after he stopped. I thought I had done something wrong...

I'm sad for his kids. I'm sad that his wife is dead. I'm sad that he will be in jail for the rest of his life.

Today I'm just sad.

Please pray for Breanna and Christopher De Kleine as their entire lives, and worlds have been flipped upside down.

Pray for their family, and their friends. Austin is one of Chris's friends, and is having a hard time. Pray for him too!!

Ahh gotta love workin' those late afternoons...

I would really prefer to work in the mornings at Metro and get out at 2:30pm every day and have the rest of the day to myself, but sometimes I like to just sleep in. Like today for example, I slept in till 10:35am... It felt really good; even though I took a 2-hour nap when I got home from work last night at 4:00pm.

I work today, tomorrow, and Thursday, and I'm off on Friday. Friday I'm hopefully hanging out with my friend Justin Vandenbrink. We went to Guatemala in '04 w. his youth group from Beechwood Reformed Church. Not 100% sure what we will be doing, but I'm sure whatever we do, we'll have fun...

Monday I get to go for lunch w. Heidi DeJonge from church. She works at Calvin Theological Seminary over on Burton Ave. I'm excited about that too...

I don't have to work this weekend, I get to hang out in Holland w. the family, and I'm excited about that. :-) It feels strange not having to be at work right now, but I like it a lot, it's a nice feeling...

I've been at Metro Health for 3 weeks now, and I already have a couple girls who don't like me... :-( I was 'checker' last week Saturday night. The 'checker' controls the line and tells the tray passers when to take the trays up. Well, I was actually suppose to be a tray passer, but they didn't have me on the schedule to work that night, but Rondine [one of my managers] asked me to stay and do checker for her, so I said yes. Well she had to go upstairs to the cafeteria, and I was getting drinks ready for the trays, and one of my co-workers, Ronique was like, "you need to do this, and you need to do that." I turned around so fast and said, "DO NOT treat me like I'm stupid, and I know how to do it, I've done it before." She was a bit shocked, and didn't apologize, but I ignored her the rest of the time, and told Rondine about it later. Rondine was not happy about it at all.

Anyway yeah, that's my story. I've gotta get going... so have a great weekend!!

Sorry this post is couple days late. Should've been posted on Monday, but I was crazy busy on Monday. I worked from 11am to 7pm; then I had to rush out to Muskegon, which was tons of fun. I got called into work on Tuesday, and I worked today. It's been a long week, but tomorrow is my last day till Monday, so it's okay.
